Building reports

Build live charts and tables from your projects, opportunities, customers, products and events, and keep them together on a dashboard everyone can see.

Dashboards

Reports open on a dashboard, such as Portfolio overview. Use Dashboards to switch to another one.

  • Every tile is a live report. Its label shows what it reports on, such as Opportunities.

  • Open a tile to see how it's built, or to change it.

  • Drag a tile by its handle to move it, drag its corner to resize it, or select the bin to remove it. Select Save to keep the layout.

  • Add report builds a new tile. Export downloads the dashboard, and the refresh button brings the numbers up to date.

Build a report

  1. Choose the data, which sets what each row is:

    • Projects: one row per project, with the fields of the opportunity it came from.

    • Opportunities: one row per opportunity, with the fields of the project it became.

    • Contacts: one row per organisation or individual, with totals from their opportunities, projects and events.

    • Products: one row per catalogue product, with sales and event totals.

    • Events: one row per attendance: who attended what, in which role, and for what value.

  2. Choose a chart. There are 18, including table, single figure (Stat), bar, line, area, pie, donut, funnel, treemap, scatter, combo, radar and radial, with stacked and 100% versions.

  3. Add fields. Select a field to add it, or drag it where you want it:

    • Rows: group down the side, such as by customer.

    • Columns: group across the top, such as by stage.

    • Values: what's counted or added up, such as Count of records or Value.

    • Filters: only include the records you want, such as open opportunities.

  4. For a date, choose how to group it, such as by month.

  5. Turn Show values on chart on or off, and pick a colour set.

  6. Select Save, then Add to dashboard. Done takes you back.

Good to know:

  • Fields marked via relation come from linked records, such as the customer on an opportunity or the project it became.

  • Some charts don't use every box. The builder says when one is ignored, and a treemap uses Tiles and Tile size instead of Rows and Values.

  • The line above the chart shows how many records are included, such as 18 of 18 opportunities.
