Setting up types and approvals

Set up types and approvals before you add anything.

For admins

1. In Hardware, add hardware types, such as Laptop, Phone or Monitor.

2. In Software, add software types, such as Productivity or Communication.

3. For each type, set who approves requests. You can have up to two approval stages, each the person's line manager or named people.

If a type is approved by the line manager and someone has no line manager on their record, their request fails. Set line managers on every record before you start.
